VRET College of Physical Education was established in 2005. Vivekananda Rural Educational Trust College of Physical Education was permitted by the Government of Karnataka to start the B.P.Ed. (Bachelor of Physical Education) programme from the academic year 2005–06.

The College is permanently affiliated with Adikavi Sri Maharshi Valmiki University, Raichur (formerly known as Raichur University, Raichur) and is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

The College is managed by Vivekananda Rural Educational Trust (R), Afzalpur . VRET College of Physical Education was the first institution under Adikavi Sri Maharshi Valmiki University to establish physical education facilities in a building and playground owned by the Trust.

The College is conveniently located near Raichur Railway Station, approximately 300 metres away, and is easily accessible by both rail and road. It is also conveniently connected to the Raichur Bus Stand.

VRET College of Physical Education is the only permanently affiliated physical education college in the Kalyana Karnataka region . Established in 2005, the College has since been a pioneer in sports and physical education in the region.

The College boasts a rich tradition of academic and sporting excellence, with many of its alumni becoming successful and enterprising professionals in the field of physical education, sports and related disciplines.

The College is continuously progressing towards modernization and aims to emerge as a leading centre of excellence in physical education and sports in the country.

The College also provides separate hostel facilities for boys and girls , supported by modern infrastructure and facilities designed to provide students with a comfortable learning environment.
